North Carolina Appalachian Blue Ridge Mountains - Misty Mountain Melody
Spring catawba rhododendron flowers blooming along the Appalachian Trail in western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. I was blessed to witness this amazing sunset as some heavy fog rolling through the area lifted just in time along my favorite section of the Appalachian Trail near Roan Mountain, TN. I really liked how the mountains were somewhat obscured behind the rolling fog, giving only a hint at the beauty which lies beyond.

This picture captures the "smoky" mountain part beautifully! Love this picture. When you live there you don't always appreciate the beauty and when you move away you really miss it. Some day hope to have this hanging in my living room!
